DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES(BBA)

In 2015 Mr. Ram Kiran, Founder, CEO & Principal of Shree Medha Degree college was of the view that the globalization of the economy and the liberalization measures introduced in India in early 90s, accelerated the process of increased demand for professional managers to meet the rapid growth of industry, services and business during the last few decades. He was also of the view that the gap between demand and supply, especially of quality managers or industry ready skills is widening. Therefore, under his leadership it was decided to give a serious thought to start an BBA programme in the College affiliated to Vijayanagar Krishnadevarya University.

Dr. Manu Pattar, (Professor in Charge, Industrial Liaison, Placement and Training at the college, was entrusted with the responsibility to act as Head of the Department, of the conceived BBA programme in 2020, well supported By Senior Faculty members. Shree Medha Degree College is a premier institution of Commerce & Management. Shree Medha has acquired a reputation of being among the foremost centres of excellence. In recognition of its distinguished record in imparting quality education, it is affiliated to the VSKUB University of Bellary. The Institute has about 1200 students in 6 academic departments/centres Commerce, computer Sciences, Humanities & and Management.

In the contemporary environment of rapidly evolving global business and commerce, a new knowledge driven society is emerging and revolutionising the acumen needed for managers. Recognising this Shree Medha Degree college established the Department of Management Studies in 2015 to impart high quality formal education in management science through a comprehensive 3-year regular BBA programme.

The Department of Management Studies has, over a short period, acquired and developed adequate infrastructure, expertise and resources to excel in imparting management education. The Department is housed in an exquisitely designed three storeyed building with four spacious lecture rooms, a large computer laboratory, a library with 3000 books, auditorium with teaching aids. An excellent departmental library and a state-of-the-art computer laboratory augment the

centralised resources available to students at the Institute level. The Department is Wi-Fi enabled.
