Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
“Bachelor of Commerce, abbreviated as B. Com is an undergraduate degree in commerce and related subjects. The course is designed to provide students with a wide range of managerial skills and understanding in streams like finance, accounting, taxation and management”. The history of Commerce in higher education is nearly 102 years old. Madras became a pioneer state where it started in 1886. The Government of Madras laid the foundation of commerce education by setting-up commercial institute in Madras. In India, Commerce education at university level made its first beginning in 1913 when Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics was established in Bombay. The Bachelor of Commerce (B.com) degree was first offered at the University of Birmingham.
